About The Soulshine Band

We love nothing more than getting you and all your guests onto the dancefloor. Infact, we live for it!

Soulshine Band is formed from some of London’s finest musicians. Our band members have studied at the top music conservatoires in the country and have shared the stage with such legends as Chaka Khan, The Brand New Heavies, Incognito, Katy Perry, Adele, and Ed Sheeran – to name just a few!

Our singers are at the top of the game, knowing exactly how to work the crowd into a frenzy! We love to get interactive – so expect to see our singers strutting their stuff on the dancefloor and encouraging your guests join in with their latest dance moves!

We have different line ups to suit all budgets – our smallest is the 7pc, which is the perfect combination of male & female vocals, guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and saxophone. Having a male and female vocalist fronting the band creates a great dynamic on stage and allows the band to perform a wide variety of genres. Our saxophone player is one of the best in the business, and never fails to impress!

If budget/ space allows – then we highly recommend adding trumpet. There is nothing quite like the sound of a live horn section for that full, fat, funk sound! Having 2 horns working together allows the band to play more of the classic funk tracks by James Brown, Curtis Mayfield etc.

If you’re looking for something different, then why not add some percussion? Bongos and congas are a staple of disco and house music, but percussion is rarely seen on stage these days. Our bongo/ conga player really looks the part and is sure to wow your guests, and this gives the band a more authentic disco sound and flavour 🙂

For the ultimate line up, the band can provide an additional female vocalist. Having 3 vocalists allows the band to create luscious 3 part vocal harmonies, aswell as perform choreography on stage and really work the dancefloor!

In addition to the main band we can also provide acoustic performances such as a duo or trio. These are very popular options during the wedding ceremony, drinks reception, or dinner before the party really begins!

As standard we include a professional sound engineer, top notch sound system, plus stage lighting and dancefloor lighting suitable for upto 200 guests. We can also cater for much larger events – prices available on request.

In between sets we can provide background or party music. Or alternatively if you would like to create your own playlist we can provide a connection for ipod/ laptop etc. If you would like any recommendations for a DJ we would be very happy to help with this as we know lots of great DJ’s!

We are affiliated with a fantastic sound & lighting hire company who is able to provide wireless microphones for speeches, CD decks & turntables if you are hiring a DJ, starcloth backdrops and coloured uplighting around the room – all at preferential rates for customers who book the Soulshine Band!
